So how do you guys get rid of red bugs ?
How long and how much intercepter do you dose and how long do you leave it in for
Working with 100 gallons of water
Going to use the large dog pills

Thanks you I want to treat the. Whole tank but I am going to try that with the bayer stuff on one sps and see with my own eyes what I get

If you have many Acros in your system you need to treat the whole system--unless you can remove all of them at once and treat and QT them you will not eradicate the problem. Interceptor is really pretty harmless to anything other than arthropods and many larger shrimp and crabs survive the treatment. For 100g. I'd do roughly half a large dog tab for 6-8 hours ( you could dose over night and deal with it in the morning). Turn your carbon and skimmer off and prepare for a decent sized water change after treatment. You'll want to re-treat in about 2 week or so just to be sure.

+1 treating the whole system is easy..

I know a few west coast reefers who treat their tanks with interceptor every 6 months just for prevention..the KEY is treating 3x that way you erradicate adults, juveniles and freshly hatched bugz

Damn, that sucks. U still got a quarantine tank set-up? Maybe treat all sps with intercepter before they go in.

Ya funny right got rid of all the tanks down stairs and look what happen ha ha
The tanks are going back up this weekend and going back to my crazy qt ways ha ha
Just crushed the pills and ready to go in going to treat the whole tank

Ok dosed last night I woke up this morning I can not find one ha ha ha I nuked the little basterds ha ha ha
Going it let it sit in there for a couple more hours see what happins all corals look great
The shrimp don't look to good by I couldn't get him out

well I had those bastards too in my frag tank downstairs, But all the water dumps into the same sump. My frag tank was loaded with them. Never saw one in my display. I did the interceptor thing as directed, shut down the bubbles in the skimmer and let the meds circulate for 13hrs before turning on my skimmer and doing a fresh carbon run. I couldnt believe it but I still had them. I was talking to a friend Dave Knuckles and he said to double the dose and not to wait so I tryed again. Mashing up two tables and mixing them into warm sea water and adding to my system. Again I shut the bubbles down on the Bubbleking 300 and shut down my carbon reactor. Man I felt so bad for the shrimp and crabs I couldnt get out, they were stumbling around like they drank a few six packs then light out for them. Ok waiting 12 hrs as this begun with adding the interceptor I never did a water change so all the meds were still in my sytem with the exception of a little skimmimg (4hrs) and a little carbon filtering (4hrs). Ok low and behold I go downstairs to check my frag system after waiting another 12 hrs and I look to see more bugs all over the glass, I put my reading glasses on and I swear the bugs were smiling at me! Now Im ripping, I valve off the flow thru the frag tank completly. I pump out all the water in the tank and let it sit without water for 3 days. ( this is like 5 or 6 weeks ago when it was really cold. BTW I left the few corals I had in there becuase they were mounted on rock and I didnt want to take the chance so The parished as well as the bugs. Im Not too sure why the interceptor didnt work for me even after I doubled the recomended dose. Well Im bug free , I did some thinking on how this could have happened since I take extreme caution when adding any live stock too my tank or system. I was out Exotic Pet In yonkers and I took a Piece of live rock back home and put it into my frag tank and a week later I had bugs.

ok update i have no signs of the red bugs cant find one going to dose and next week
ot tanks up and running again no going throw this again
going back to my crazy way of qt
