Phytoplankton & Rotifers cultures during vacation time??

Dear fellow reefers,

I'm planning start my own culture stations, but what happens to the system when you go away for a week or so? What do most of you do to maintain it without crashing. thanks for looking!

Refrigerate (2) 1 liter bottles (1 for contingency) of the rotifers before leaving. Add a little phyto/instant algae to dark up the bottles. This will slow their metabolism down considerably. After 7 days, you should still be left with 50%, 10-15% at 14 days. Restart culture after your return.

I can't comment on phyto, as I've always used instant algae from Reed Nutrition. G'luck!
