Hey i have a 30 long by 30 high by 18 depth tank. 56gallon. I currently have 2 Koralia 1400 pointing at each other towards the top. This makes for a very turbulent top half of tank but very dull bottom half.

My softies on the bottom look like they are not getting any current at all. i guess its cause the koralias are only 30" apart while very high.

So im thinking of getting an MP10 for the mid-bottom section of my tank. Would this be a good idea to combine with koralias up top? Or could the Mp10 handle all this alone?

The Koralias are silent cause they are in water will the MP10 be audible? Im sord of okay with the noise from my Mag 9 return pump but will it be louder?

I think one MP10 on the side would give you nice cross flow. I have mine down about 6"s in a 24" tall tank. On the other side I have a Koralia 2 pointed towards the front of the glass mounted on the back glass. It is about 3-4"s down, but I also have it pointed down towards the middle. The combo gives me a nice circling motion and pushes all the water towards the MP10 but down along the bottom.

The MP10 is the loudest thing on my tank. The skimmer is in the cabinet and I don't hear it same as the return pump. It is an Ehiem 1262 and is dead silent. My overflow gurgles from time to time, but when the MP10 is cranked up to the highest flow, you can hear it sending out a whining noise. Not to bad though.

Hmmmm, interesting. Makes me wonder weather im better off with an Mp40 at 50% with no-low noise or an mp10 at 100% with alot of noise. Thank you for your help so far. So greatly appreciated. Hopefully someone with an MP40 can chime in.
