Does anyone have a dragon flow? I am buying a aquavim 55 gallon cube and it came in with a dragonflow instead of an overflow box. Does anyone know anything about these?

Thanks

What are your thoughts about this? I have never heard of anything like this? I ordered an overflow box and he got me the dragonflow. I waited 3 months for this tank and if I want the overflow I will have to wait another 3 months. Just want peoples thoughts on this.

Thanks

It seems like it will work. I never used one but it looks promising. Its kinda weird that they really dont hide the plumbing, like a traditional RR tank but it looks like it will be quite. Hopefully someone chimes in that has used one before

I hope it is quite. It's going to be in my living room right next to my tv. I also hope it works with no problems. I hope someone here has used or seen one before.

Thanks

hmm...interesting...the overflow lets water in from bottom and top and drains 360 degrees so shouldnt be a problem...i helped build commercial supermarket tanks with this kind of overflow...basically a big tube to drain water...i would put valves in the drain and return pipe to fine tune the flow or i would imagine its gonna be noisy..let us know how it turns out and pics of the new setup!

Thanks I will do. I'm picking it up a week from today. I'm excited but also scared because I know nothing about this. I ordered a overflow. This sucks

yes they are really nice. Just wish he got in what I ordered back in Jan. Seems like I will never get what I want. Seems like I always have to jump though hops to get it. so I guess I am going to wind up settling for something I didnt want. Story of my life. Just hope it works well. I guess I will let you all know. wish me luck

Sounds like an Asian Rapper

Hahahahahahaha love it.

Seriously though, i used to work at an lfs and they sold tanks with these. Theyre cool and they seem to work pretty well. My issues with them are:
1. Theyre in the middle of the tank so theyre a little obtrusive.
2. Theyre usually clear so theyll probably build algae.
3. The overflow drains water around the return line thats in the middle of the assembly...kinda noisy.

This is what I am very afraid of. I dont Want anything that is noisy. But if it works I guess I will be happy. As far as it being in the middle of the tank mine is on the right side of the tank. Would you say they work good? Have you ever seen one that was running for a few years with no problems? I just dont want problems later on down the road. But I also don't want to wait another 4 months and hope and pray that he gets another one. And by that time I have waited 8 months for a tank. I do understand in this hobby it's all about patients. But mine are starting to run low.

Most tanks have the overflows mounted against the back wall. The dragon overflows are literally in the center of the tank touching no walls. Ive seen one running in an established tank but the guy was neurotic and cleaned it daily, i doubt it needed it but hes neuerotic lol. Id go for a corner overflow because it allows the most room to aquascape and they are very reliable.

That's why I wanted the corner overflow. So I guess I will tell the guy I will wait another 4 months. What's another 4 when I have already waited 4. But like I said this dragonflow is in the right side all the way in the back of the tank. Looks like it takes up a lot less space then an overflow does though. It's just a tub.
