Hey everyone. Well I got a bad case of velvet , don't know where it came from or anything just know that I have it. Each fish is going one by one. My question to everyone is should I just take these poor fish that are suffering ? And also how long is the turn around so that one day I can put fish back? Is 4-6 weeks? Should I wait even longer? Thanks everyone for your time.

6-8 weeks with no fish, i went through this a year or more ago and lost 90% of my fish. you got it from not qt'ing a new addition or treating a fish. only chance would be to catch all fish and have a temp qt tank set up and try treating the fish

yupp.

buddy did the same thing...3 times. his LFS got a bad batch a few times of fish, and he does not qt his fish. he got one fish with it, and wiped out 80% of his system instantly. he waited 2 months, slowly built his system back up, and did it again! then a year later, once more! now he qt's everything he gets, and does not shop at that LFS anymore..

only way of saving them is if you right this minute go get a qt tank and start treating them asap. if not they will most likely die within the next day or two. velvet is a hell of a disease. maybe try contacting dom and see if he will qt for you in the mean time.
