frag tank experiment

hey everyone i'm going to be setting up a frag tank and going to try a little different experiment with the lighting. i will be using and AI 24" 4 t5ho light. now here is where the experiment part comes in to play. i was going to try and do 4 6500k bulbs to try and get maximum coral growth and then switch to a 20000k bulbs to get extensive coloration. anyone ever try this or can recommend where to get the bulbs or what is the best brand that i could buy for my money...

Your going to get growth during the 6.5k phase then color at the 20k phase. what are you trying to accomplish?

I'm trying to document the growth rate of sps under these conditions. That's all.

i doubt that you will have better growth with that temp, more algea yes, but would fair better with 10k or 12k, growth comes as much if not more from stabil water parms and good parms

Agree on stability. But with some reading. 6500k is great growth no color though.
