PocketReef, new iPhone app

Compatible with iPod Touches as well. I'm still working on iPad version.
Needs 3G or wifi to load images. Feedback appreciated.

Where are you getting your pictures and information from?

I penned the descriptions myself. 80% of the images are from my tank and a few friends who were kind and unselfish enough to let me use their images. Image credits are on the about tab for those who don't have an iOS device. The other 20% are from wiki commons royalty free archive. It's amazing how many people I reached out to here on MR and they said NO, you can't use my pictures.

Are you copy/pasting, rss feeding or hard coding the item descriptions/information & requirments to the app item list? So far it looks great, I know of alot of paid apps that are far worse.

Thanks, it's an sqlite dbase that has all the info. the info on the images is on the image itself. Didn't see the need for dynamic data so I took the smallest filesize route. I think the whole app is like ~275k and it's not going to get much bigger with 500 or even 2000 animals.

Ah nice, if you ever want to expand it you could add a function for user contributed information but then you'd also need a way to moderate it so that can be a pain in itself. It looks really good you should put an iad at the bottom or something, I'll be using this alot to show people what stuff looks like.
