I have been hatching brine shrimp eggs for my fish. I do it about once a week just as an exciting snack. Since I do not do this in large volumes I simply use a glass jar on my tank and give it about 24 to 30 hours to hatch. Heat and light are from the tank. Then I take a turkey baster and siphon out the shrimp which usually gather at the lightest spot in the jar. Then put the shrimp into the tank
The problem with my process is that it is hard to siphon out shrimp without getting shells. I am getting better at it but sometimes I give the baster a squeeze that causes the whole jar to mix and it takes an hour before it settles down enough for me to try to siphon out the shrimp.
I am not sure what a brine shrimp net is supposed to do but I haven't found anything that will separate shells from shrimp. I know there are gadgets for hatching but not sure if it is worth it for such a small volume.
