Long story short. We have an apt on the 3rd floor ( a loft, wide opern) and heard baby birds the past few weeks. Now developted tiny bugs in the house were identified them as bird mites. Sprays only keep them out not kill staglers.

Apparetnly they only have a week life cycle and need bird blood to reproduce. We are having out landlord take care of that.

I think we may have to bomb the house. Has anyone done this with there tank? I really don't want to but if I need to will wraping any openings in plastic be enough?

When I painted I got a large plastic tarp and wrapped it around the ENTIRE fish tank and then used packing tape to seal it as best I could. if you have to bomb, this is the best way.

Just remember to keep the lights off to detour the heat issue.

In addition to the above, make sure your skimmer gets fresh air or attach a carbon filter to the air intake. Or shut it off.
