i just set up my daughters 14 gallon nano put in a bag of live sand and used water from my tank as i did a water change today and put in about 10 lbs of fully cured live rock should i throw a shrimp in there for a cycle or am i pretty much cycled allready

Definitely not cycled, but far ahead of the game than most.

You will definitely experience diatoms or possible Dyno's

Also, the sand won't be able to denitrify for a few months until it seeds from the rock.

So, I would be careful on the fish additions. If you put 2 clowns in there and keep on water changes for the first 3-4 weeks, you should be good to go.

trying to teach a 9 year old not to rush things is a job in itself lmao thanks

Tell me about it - I did the same thing with my son (8) with an AP 24 - 2 weeks and a pair of clowns later. Tanks is running perfect, but I kept up on the water changes for the first few weeks.

Nice work and good for you getting your daughter into it at that age.
