just curious, but how many hours a day or a week do you guys spend with your setups? either watching maintaining or whatever the he// it is you're doing. i myself think i spend way too much time, to the point my wife thinks i'm crazy (and i think she wants to sabotage my tank).

Nicely said. You should trademark that quote. Lol...
I spend on average:
1.5 hours a day feeding and monitoring
5 hours once a week on water changes and maintenan ce
And love every secound of it. :inlove:

At least 2 hours a day, much more whenever I can. But the difference is to some people spending time on tanks (maintenance, etc...) to some it's a chore to me and I'm sure many others on here it's pleasure. We love to tinker with out setup and find new ways to make it better or re-arrange things just the way we like them, to some that might seem somewhat STRANGE...

I feed, check all equipment to make sure it is functioning properly and then sit for an hour and enjoy it.

Factor in 15 minutes twice a week to change filter socks - 30 minutes
Clean/empty skimmer twice a week - 30 minutes

So in total maybe hour a week normally on those and then every other week a 30g water change, which takes about 30 minutes - 45 minutes.

I tried to make it as easy as possible :).

Way too much time... Got a new samsung 55" led tv.. That I don't even turn on since I got back into the hobbie...lol.. But loving every min of it. Even after all maintenance is done, gives me joy to sit back and say "yeah this is nice"..

i have 90 gal flwr tank and a 150 reef tank. My reef tank has over 9 big fish (over 6 inch tal)and my small tank (my 90 gal) has 2 big morish idol fish and 3 small fish. I feed the fish in that tank 2 times, feeding them +norisweed . I spend daily 30 min and once a week 2hr change both tank sack and water keep up with biopellets and i add brightwell bio fuel and microbecter7 . That is how I keep my tank maintenance free with 3 times feeding and my coral growing fine .also with 29 gal qt tank
