Tubing question..

okay...i have a question...
any of you guys know if the tubing for an ice machine is okay for a tank..i heard that plastic leaches chemicals that can be deadly...
you know when you go to a hardware store the tubing section...is that okay? if not should i use something else if so where can i get it?

yes 100%. Plastic is inert it is fine for use in SW tanks.

It is inert but not very flexible. I'd use vinyl or silicone tubing. What application are you using it for? If it's drip acclimation, I'd use silicone tubing.

Jon, I think it's too rigid a tubing. I'd use vinyl instead. Ice maker tubing is intended to be used with a compression fitting not clamps. Not that it wouldn't work but you'll have an easier time and less chance for leaks with vinyl.
