Need help on dialing in protein skimmer

I have a two week old bubble magus nac9 trying to hit that sweet spot. Any suggestions on where to start or how to go about getting to that sweet spot?
I'm looking to get a heavy dark gunk opposed to a wet skim

My sweet spot is a little pass the #3 my it pulls the dark stuff out

I have the nac 6 or 7 I forget but just a hair past 3 is good for me anything past that and it will over flow found this skimmer to be good but I'm still waiting for a skimmer that really does what I want it too
