So I have a 110G with a MegaFlow4 sump/refugim with a Mag 9.5 pump.
My thing is like this, I don?t think there is enough water flow, I will like to have more water overflowing the overflow box so more water can go down to the sump.
It looks like I have a lot off mall particles in the water, from looking at the sump it looks like not a lot of water is coming out off the 1st chamber into that black tray with the holes, & I think some water is just not being filtered. So I was thinking if I add a pump will that do the trick?
And if yes then what size Mag to get the same, or smaller?

I think that you need a larger return pump!! I am not a pump guy, but you are not even turning your tank over once an hour! 9.5 is 950 gph at minimal head. You need a much larger pump for a 110. And with that you need to have some sort of power heads in the tank for flow in the tank. Do you have a reef? You are most likely going to have dead spots in the tank. Look into MP40 (expensive :( ) or a few korillas..

Just my opinion! Check with others about what size pump, but I dont think that it is strong enough.

you will need a new return pump. The 9.5 at about 4 feet puts out 700gph. If you like the mag pumps you should have at least a 12 running. also check your return line, you might have a blockage and not pushing enough water through. how much flow can your overflow take?

Its good to have but not necessary. Good cause if one fails and you are not around you still got the other. The bad, you putting more heat into the tank and need more space and spend more on electricity. Did you check your return line for blockage?

From those pics I would say that you def have a flow problem. Your overflow looks very large, so it may just be the undersized pump. How is the pump plumbed (how is it connected to the tank?) flex, pvc, is the hose the correct size...

Im in that group of low flow through the sump, gives your heaters(s) time to warm the water, more passes through the skimmer/carbon/phosban. The other big plus no micro bubbles getting back into the tank, IMO you have the right pump.

Im going with a bigger pump

Well I think for my tank & the bio load that I have, more flow will be good, I have the MegaFlow4 & it came with the over flow that has 2 lines comeing out of it, & the Megaflow4 is good for us to 155G & 210G tanks, so I dont think ill have a problem with it handling the extra flow & my skimmer is a hang over so its not in the sump. so my thing is now what pump to get the mag1200 or the MaxiJet5500?
