looks like a monti, but is not a monti. its actually more like a shroom, but much thicker feeling and not as soft, but NOT stoney at all...? what is it?

these guys look like plates, but i dont think they are. they naturally grew on my rocks awhile ago. have a cone shaped bottom shell. looks like a plate from top, but not the base or skeleton. they also drop heads. i have 4 now...what is it?

Ok so, I think I figured out all top ones, except the last 2. The plate looks more like some type of Cycloseris. The last one is not a Monti. I have monti, this coral would be considered a softy. It closes up completely at night. The flesh is soft and I can probably tare it in half or cut it. It does not have a Stoney skeleton at all

You are refering to this one... correct? Has being kinda of soft?

Yes, correct. From picture it looks just like a Monti, but I'll try to take a video, it actually sways with the water current a little because it's close to my mp10. At night it gets around the size of a quarter, and midday it almost the size of my palm. And when it opens, it flattens itself out with the rocks on top of the craters and all on the rocks so it looks smooth like a monti. Weird right?

Well the video might help to clarify ... from your description it reminds of an Elefant ear soft coral - Rodhacthis mussoides... Let's wait for your video and see if we can identify.

Hmmm... Good find. I'll look more into that now and see if that's it. But later today when its fully open ill pick it up and show you how its soft and closes up. I'll snap some pictures too
