As title says i am toying with the idea of upgrading to a 6' tank since the storm undid my current set up. lmk whats available, looking for Tank only.


Took measurements this morning, 6' will be tight
squeeze! Anyone have a 5' tank they are selling?

You are nuts!! How the hell are you gonna get a 6' into your basement????

I am there with you to get it in, and make stand and such. But then we HAVE TO open the wall and get it in the right way!!!! None of this behind the wall crap!

Didn't get what you meant at first.

Well get the tank down there, and then cut the walls to the right width so that the tank sits flush with the front of the wall. I say that we finish sides either frame it out like a window so there are wood returns that go back and then either frame with molding, or finish it like a regular drywall corner (cornerbead and spackle).

Either way need to be painted with exterior grade paint (because of moisture for the wood around the inside)

Putting behind the wall and not being able to see the ends of the tank.... ahhhh what if one of your fish likes to hang in the corners, you will never see the thing.

(BTW: Jo asked me yesterday as I was working on my tank in the garge "So when are you going to want to get an even bigger tank")
