RowaCarbon usage

I notice the instructions that the carbon should be used for 1-2 days (repeated every 4 weeks). Is there any reason why it cannot be run perpetually (changing out monthly?)?
Is that just their suggestion for Carbon in general, or is it specific to the RowaCarbon for some reason?

Carbon you need to replace after a few weeks.. otherwise it starts to leach the not so good stuff back into your tank.
