At this time of year some of the smaller Home Depot stores put away the items needed to make these covers - so make sure you go to either a large HD store or to an Ace Hardware stores (cheaper to buy at HD).
The tougher part is getting the actual screening. I have used the BRS screen to make a cover for someone (he sent me the screening) and IMO the pond neeting is a better choice as I truly feel the BRS netting cuts down on how much light is getting through due to the tiny size of the openings in the screening. Additionally the fact that is is white must - to some degree - refelct the light, rather than the thinner weave of the black pond netting. JMHO...

If you happen to have a Walmart near you, go to their fabrics section and ask for bridal net it's almost like the screen from brs.
There are no Walmart stores in the city limits
..tho he could go to a fabric store for that, again I tghink the weave is too small and will cut back on the effectiveness of his lighting
