I've noticed this starting to pop out from under the mushrooms over the last few days. Part of me thinks it's algae but the fronds are also very fine. They also show an almost electric blue color at times. Any help identifying this is appreciated.

No Brendan I know that's bubble algea. If you look at the middle area of the purple/blue shroom cluster you can see fine "leaves" of something growing from under the shrooms. They curve towards the tips and are very fine in nature. Hard to get a good image of them.

Mike after reading up on it I'm not thrilled. I really don't want to lose the rock if I can help it. I saw where raising Mag sometimes rids the tank of it. As it is I need to raise my Mag levels (Currently at 1000-1100). Any other ideas?
Thanks!

it's tough stuff...I've tried raising the mag up as high as 1600 and keeping the phos and trates down....seemed to help, but I've been battling it for over a year. I just have little patches here and there. My phos is only.02 and trates 0 so I'm manually removing it and using an old toothbrush scrubing.....sometimes it goes away and sometime it re-appears somewhere else.
