Hi everyone. Here is the problem. My little one has smeared crazy glue on the face of my tank. My tank is acrylic and I have tried getting it off with Novus 1,2 & 3 with no success. Any ideas ?? Anyone have any experience with this ? A possible solvent that wont damage the acrylic.....???

Thanks,

Thane

Happened to my brand new acrylic tank, all I can say is your going to have to sand it and buff it, the crazy glue pretty much bonds to the acrylic, there's no other way...

Hey Thane...ahhh kids :)

To save you a little time, I just tried to get a small area of CA off of my Tenecor tank using nail polish remover...and it didn't work :(
I even left a piece of paper-towel soaked in acetone for about 5 minutes..and nothing happened.. (though it didn't mar the surface either)

Being someone who wears acrylic nails, I have glued my fingers to many things and what works the best to get it to release is HOT soapy water (I suggest Dawn).
When I used to work in the costume jewelry field we used Dawn by itself to soften the glues we used when we got them on things...let it soak for a few minutes.
I would try and warm the area first with a hair dryer set as hot as possible and then give the hot soapy water a try..or the acetone..or if that doesn't work..try Goo-Gone but try that on an area of the tank you can't see first!
