My cousin has two on a 75 gallon (48x18 footprint). Two work just fine and is growing SPS. These lights are very powerful and people think you need to run a lot to grow coral which isnt true.

An 18"x21" yes but a 48x24x24 would do much better with 4 units. Especially if you plan on SPS/Clams...

If by big you mean 90 gallons just look at Gary's tank. One of the nicest LED tanks I have seen....Granted it's a mixed tank but his sticks are beautiful...
