fire fish

so i bought 2 set of fire fish(4) and i have 0 left, when i check them there was no sign of other fishes killing then, so i when Into a testing mode. ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrate 0ppm, po4 0ppm, salt 1.024- 1.25. My watchmen, blue hippo,khole tang, yellow tang, blue through, they all find.

30g sump, 3type of macro algea, miracle mud, mag 9.5,

any ideas?

Don't know what is cuc, but they don't jump found all the body. This suck man they are some nice looking fisk.

clean up crew. they could have all been bullied by any of the tangs in your tank. tangs are too active and too aggressive to keep with peaceful firefish in a smallish tank.

IME...it is 'common' for firefish to die off, disappear/jump or kill each other...you probably better off keeping just 1

We just got a purple fire fish the other day, when I saw him in the store I went to get an employee to help me and when we came back to get the fish it was gone from the tank. The employee said oh he is just buried and he started digging in the sand with his hand and then the fire fish came out. Today my fire fish was missing half the day. I checked all his rock hiding places and could not find him. Tonight I came downstairs and there he was swimming around. I am guessing he did the same thing today. He did not even come out to feed this morning.

Good luck, your fish may still be in there.

How long did they last in your tank. It is very unusual for all to die quickly unless they were in bad shape when you got them. Sometimes they are either very stressed or sick from the way they were cought in the ocean and then they die quickly after you buy them. Some people wait for the fish to stay in the store for a week or so just to make sure they are ok before buying.

My firefish is terrified of my Kole Tang. He was fine with all my other fish, but the tang...yeah. As soon as I got him I could tell he was afraid. As soon as he sees the tang, he bolts for his hole. It makes sense, the Kole is probably 20x the fifi's body mass.

i did acclimate, slow drip fold about 1/2, and rest at regular tube speed. lol i can explain it right, but i did.

your right, about the kole tang, i did notice about them, but the bodys didn't have any bite mark or anything on then.

Did you test what was salinity the fish were in . And what is your salinity? 1/2 hour might not of been longer enough if salt salinity is alot higher or lower. Different of a few points can make the difference....

Agree if your LFS keeps the fish only tanks at 1018 salinity and your tank is at 1026 you should probably do a two hour drip then put back in bag and float in DT for another 15-20 min to bring the temp back up.

I acclaimated for about one hour, also the way I do it is that I put a small container( 1g ) in sump so the water come for the DT and sump provides the temperature.
