you can get a Ranco Temp Controller. It comes with a male plug and a female plug plus a probe.

Probe goes in your water (preferably somewhere with a little flow like your sump)

Male plug goes in your wall

Fan plugs into the female plug

Set the temp and you're good to go. New they're typically $100-150 for the basic ones and about $100 more for one that is waterproof.

You can try and find a used one or get an actual reefing controller too.

Glad things are going better.

I was looking for a device exactly like the one you mentioned. Not sure which one exactly I should order. I have found some for 50-75$. If its about 150$ I'd get an apex jr.

You're better served by purchasing an actual contoller like the Apex or a AC Jr as it can montitor your tank summer & winter and control heat temps & lighting.
A clip on fan blowing across your sump will lower the temp by 2-3 degrees.
If the room your tank is in tends to heat up even more, you may have no choice but to invest in a chiller.

The camping ice pack brick things are a bad idea in the event they have a pinhole leak, you could wipe your tank out. No idea what the contents of those contain :( You'd be better off freezing water in a zip lock bag or a clean soda bottle for days when the temp spikes.

looking into an Apex Jr. at the moment.

was planning to put the ice packs inside a plastic zip lock bag before placing into my tank but that's for emergencies only.
