How did you discover MR?

Let's hear how you found yourself to be here on Manhattan Reefs?

Where did you hear about the site from or did you find it while crusing the internet?

I'll start...
Back in 2006 I was highly involved in FW tanks (I still am) and a few of the guys on the FW forum I frequented had SW tanks and keep telling me that I HAD to set one up...and that I HAD to get onto MR as it was such a great place to buy things and the people here were awesome.
Right on both counts, very happy I stopped by. :flower:

I found out about it from my brother alex ( the m&m avatar) he told me about it while i was still doing cichlids and i joined when i started my salty tank a few years ago, and i been trapped here ever since!!

If i remember correctly i was waiting online outside a lfs for a midnight sale on victory blvd in staten island and we all started talking and im pretty sure dean was there talking about the site

I started off on another forum and saw someone mention mr so I jumped all over it and started my MR career. Been during checking the forum every second I can. I think i may have an addiction.

Bought some zoas on eBay when I was starting out and the guy I bought them from was a member here. He told me to go on MR for something, don't remember what but that's how I got on board. His username was 'deepwater' if I remember correctly. Feels like so long ago too lol

My friend juggernot55 put me on and also got me into the hobby. Its been a long learning experience sense. But thank god for Mr were we have so many experienced members that always want to help. It's funny Kathy on my first post you were so helpful! I've never been part of a website that care as mush of hobby as mush as I do. Thanks everyone.

I found MR while I was doing research on my first saltwater tank. I'm pretty sure it was a link from a Google search for protein Skimmers. I remember the Skimmer thread by Nyreefnoob was one of the first threads I read on here.

Jesse at Aquarium Village mentioned it when i was getting my setup. I had already seen it along with reefcentral, 3reef, etc. It quickly became my main read and SW forum of choice. I've met a few people already getting frags and equipment. Can't wait to meet everyone at the next swap!

In 2007 I met some crazy lady in a LFS out here on the island and she told me about the site I wish I could remember that crazy ladies name LMAO. Reefs4life I haven't heard that name in a loooooong time.
