Most folks use a Mag-Float to remove algae from the glass.

What you need to address is why you are getting algae on the glass in the first place..do you know what your current water parameters are?
Nitrates, ammonia, nitrites, Ca, alk, mg, phosphates?

Tell us more about your tank..size, how long has it been set up, current bioload, are you running any GFO or carbon, type of skimmer?

Are you using tap water or do you have a ro/di to make your water?

Your tank is in a natural cycle. Remember when you first cycle it, you have no algae but the ammonia is already gone while you have not have a strong light yet? That means, nitrate converted from ammonia is not converted to anything else before. So, nitrate in the tank will now become algae once you have a strong light. So in the meantime, besides couple wall scaling snails or a algae eating blenny, the only option is the magnet. Even if your tank is completely mature and using proper water, and some cleaning crew, you will still need the magnet once a while. If you are getting a Mexican turbo snail, make sure you glue all the frag, they will bulldoze them away.
