That is a great Pump I would call the company and complain. I have the HY-10000 but I run it out side the sump

it's nice and quite but many has rusty issue check RC. Jeremy@ coralvue is a great guy new pump on the way but i'm force to run with the rusty pump at the moment.

I actually had the same issue with my HY-7000. The warranty service was really easy to deal with, but wish it wasn't needed in the first place. Supposedly they had a bad batch in the beginning which has been resolved going forward. Its been almost a year since I had mine replaced so I should probably check it again, just in case.

BTW for those who want to swap to plastic screws you can find them in homedepot or ebay but mkae sure you know the length and the thread size.

you have any 1000-2000gph(insump) pump without any SCREWs laying around? i'm done with pumps with metal or stain---less ALL of them RUSTY just matter of time!

Steve, sorry to read this. I've had similar issues with clamps. I really need to get some plastic ones so I don't have to continuously replace them. Were your animals affected?

hey Awi lost some lps and mostly sps:irked: got the replacement pump yesterday need to ship the bad pump back for inspect.

I was suppose to return my skimmer's pump, but never got around to it. Don't be lazy like me.lol
