LFS are they prepared for power outage and are you....

We are all preparing in case of No Power. What in the world if LFS without power. Places could lose thousands of dollars. Could put them out of business with a big loss. Hope they have a back up plan as well. My point is here we always have taken electricity for granted. What does our LFS and warehouse do without generators. We now need to rethink that a second source of power back up is set up in place. Yes battery air pumps are helpful. But what if we are without power for two weeks.. We only worry about this is when a storm is coming or a heat wave takes us down. We take our electricity for granted . Other resource now have to be added to this hobby. I lost one system to no electricity while on vacation. Not planning losing other......everybody grab a straw and blow into your tank.........it's going to be a rough ride......good luck everybody.......

Hopefully it won't be too bad. After Irene, I made it a priority to spend the money on a battery back up system for my Vortechs. A generator would be nice but I think I'm going to have to wait for that.

Fish and coral stores should have a one day sale today and dump as much as they can before the storm for cost or below cost just to make sure no major losses occur. I know I would have stocked up on corals and fish for sure at those prices and take the chance of an outage.

I am in Nassau and have a generator with about 20 gallons of gas and another 45 gallons in my cars that I can siphon out. I also have 2 SCUBA tanks that I can attach an airstone through my special regulator that I aquired years ago. I am as prepared as I can be under the circumstances.
There is another 100 gallons in my boat but that is in Port Washington but if the power goes out for days, I will go there and suck out the gas.

That is correct. I have siphoned gas from this car before so I doubt that anti siphon device is designed very well.
