Morning everyone,

I have an apex aqua controller for 6 months now that I have yet to set up. I've looked at the directions twice and scratched my head and promptly put the entire thing away. My tank is running great, I have acan lighting, so dont need this for lighting.......

100 gallon display and 75 gallon sump, and I'm doing 33 gallon water change every other week, needless to say my paramiters are great and tank is running very very well.

Is there a reason I should keep this? Someone convince me.....

Thanks in advance!
Bruce

(Russ pics of tank are gonna be going up today:wink1:)

I love my apex.. It took a while to figure it out but now I can control my pumps by setting profiles.. I have five different currents that Automatically change throughout the day. I can also access my apex anywhere in the world through the Internet. Also, the possibilities of your apex are endless. Do some research and ask questions you won't be disappointed

You're better off attempting to set it up yourself and ask questions if you run into an issue or get an understanding on how to do certain tasks. Controllers is the center of your reef, and help may not always be readily available.

Best bet... hook up your Apex and EB8, use a lamp or cellphone and tinker with the simple programming; or setup wizards as Neptune calls it.

I think it depends on the equipment you have weather setting it up will be beneficial, difficult.
What equipment do you have?
I use mine to turn on my metal halide and t5 fixture. It also has a program to turn off when tank temperature gets to hot. I have two tunze 6095 pumps which are completely controlled by apex and creates different flow patterns, intensity through out the day. I also have bulk reef supply dosing pumps which is controlled by apex to run for 5 minutes every hour. I use the feed function to turn off all pumps, skimmer heater and chiller, and halides while I'm doing a water change. I have a fan in the canopy that comes on when tabk gets a specific temperature. If that dies not work then the chiller will kick on. My apex also conrtols my ato. On my ato system has dual float sensors for safety. Also I have a float sensor in the reservoir that when triggered will send me an email and text reminding me to fill reservoir with rodi water. If my ato pump runs for over a certain amount of minutes an email will alert will be sent.
And I am no genius when it come to this stuff. Most of the programs that I use come from reef central neptune system forums.

This was typed on my phone so excuse errors
