In regards to customer service, there is non better. He is available 24/7 and will not rest until his clients are nothing more than 100% satisfied.

Not to take away any of what you said... but this comment could be said with any number of up and coming manufacturers. When building a start up, you do need to dedicate your time to customer satisfaction. This is what keeps food on the table.

You also state that you have 6 months in with the lights... What lighting did you have prior to, and really what else do you accredit coral growth to?

The first pic is with the T5's I had. The (3) Headed Candy Cane Coral were placed in my tank 09/22/2012 courtesy of RKaragozler. The Fathom Led's were installed 11/6/2012 (Election Day) by Fathom himself. This morning I took the last pic on the page (lights were still on the incline) 12/30/2012 @9am.

Please forgive the quality of the pics, I had some crappy camera's to work with. I just got a new Canon DSLR so stay tuned for better quality pics.

Four 400 watt mh arent going to give you a $1200.00 elect bill
Some one is pulling the wool over your eyes
Dont believe everything you hear

Good point but 1600 watts an hour is a big chunk. You also have to account for the other equipment needed to run a 450 gallon tank along with 700+ total water volume system so saving wherever you can without sacrificing any thing that could be detrimental to the system can not be viewed as anything but a plus. I think we can all agree on that.

So basically I can look foward to not having to sleep with a phone in the event there is a question from one of our clients? Unfortunately, the screening we do for the inhabitants to customize as well as taking into consideration the future plans for the tanks we provide the lighting for makes us feel extremly responsible for the health of the animals. So honestly, i don't see that happening (although sometimes honestly I do wish for it especially on Christmas Eve installs). But to be the company that has to bear the burden that our product has adversely affected someone's pride and joy is not something we are willing to have on our shoulders.
Whether a week after install, a month or to the extent that the owner continues to rely on us to sustain life in their system we definitely plan on being there for them. in fact that pretty much goes for anyone even if they are running different equipment than ours. How could we claim to be part of this community and hobby without that attitude. Never really was the type to believe in the "everyman for himself" ideology since the beginning of getting into the hobby.

It turns out that when you befriend the right people and see the true brotherhood of the hobby as it should be, it becomes very hard to turn your back on anyone in need. I think that's what this forum is all about and the reason we all joined. Speaking for myself i personally rely on the wealth of information here and if I have something going on in my tank or need a hand, I am fortunate enought to pick up the phone and know I will receive the same respect and help from the people I have dealt and even those i have never dealt with. That is what makes this a community and not just a e-commerce site.

I wasn't born yesturday , There is no way Richies bill is $1200.oo to run a reef tank. Thats what I was reffering to . Not making a comment on your lamps. There is no change in his tank after the leds for better or worse. Just putting the truth out there . I also ran four 400 watt m/h .

Why all the attacking? I've been reading this thread from the day he posted it and man has it been a bit disappointing.

Everyone on here that goes out and spends money on sols, wingo's, radions and now vegas brags and brags. Then because its such a loved brand there's no harsh critique when the company makes some stupid video where their full spectrum LED is turned into basically a disco light show to try to enhance why they're worth so much more than other lights.

All of those brands had to get their start sometime. There was a day where AI and the others were exactly where Fathom is- breaking into the public market.

Some may have to eventually look back at this thread and eat crow in the future because there are some Fathoms hanging above their tanks.

All because a guy was super happy with what he got for his money and finally experienced customer service that was how it should always be in his eyes.

I don't get it. I get it but what I'm saying is I feel it was all uncalled for.

I agree with you bro ^^^^^. It is very hard not to go at some of these guys in this thread but that would defeat the whole purpose of this thread. Anyone that does not believe that his bills were that high while using metal halides can simply ask him. In addition, FathomLed stated exactly what I meant. The entire system's components added up to a $1200 bill. A lot of guys don't believe that the Fathom LED's does make a huge difference because they are brain washed with the AI, Vertex and Ecotech lights because that is all they know. I doubt any one of them have seen any tests done using them. Once thing I do know is that many of those same AI units has bleached a few people's corals. You haters can continue but I will not gauge you on it.

Have anyone heard of or seen any negative feedback in regards to the FathomLed's?

And by the way Greg45 who said there is no change is Richie's tank, you need to ask him if there have been any change in his system because clearly you have not seen his tank in a very very long time.

they look dim.....
im using ajm reefled and my corals love the lights and are growing faster then when i had t5

They look dim because when I took that first pic, I had that plastic sticky over my iphone camera while it was in the case and did not realize until about a week ago. I was going to use some kind of photo editing software to enhance the picture but would encounter the haters saying that I doctored the pic so I left them the way they were taken.

Are you still running 400 watt Metal Halides? If not, what are you running now as it pertains to lighting?
