Hey All,

New to this and I am setting up a 90 gallon reef tank. Been curing rock since Christmas (~35 lbs LR from LFS and ~75 lbs Dry Rock).

I noticed my first hitchhikers - some black/red bristle worms and this organism that I am not sure of what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do not know whether or not to trust it - but I like it because it is the only thing in the tank.

Is this a sign that my water quality is close?

Also someone said this is a Majano - does this look like this to you?

no. does not mean anything about water parameters. you should be testing for nitrates, nitrites and ammonia. is it possible that it can be a mojano, sure there is a possibility. i know for sure that if it was i would not want to give a mojano an opportunity to knowingly thrive in my tank.

I am testing the water. Here are my current conditions:
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 0.125
Nitrate 5
pH 8.1
Calcium 440
Phosphate 0.25
Copper 0

If it is Majano I will kill it - just wanted to know if someone knew definitively

It's a button polyp get rid of it, spreads quick like xenias and has no color to it also clutters around high end polyps and some how stops the growth...Not proven just my opinion with the expierience I had with them
