Cyano outbreak

So iv been battening a cyano outbreak for a few weeks now. I do 5% water changes twice a week, my rodi unit is running perfect, I am running BRS Carbon and GFO reactors separately and my skimmer is running great. I also reduced my feeding. I also have 2 mp40's on anti sync reefcrest. My tank is a 120xl elos. It is a deed 127 gallon tank. The cyano seems to be off my rock now but it is all over my sand bed and is making me go crazy. My tank is only 4 months old so it's fairly new. Dose anyone have any suggestions on how I can both get rid of this problem and prevent it from happening.

I had the same problem recently. Did 20% water change and change out gfo and turn of lights for 3 days straight. Still see a little on the 4th day, i don't think i see any now. Good luck!

Light deprivation , I left lights off for 3 days and only turned em on for feelings , blasted cyano off of rocks and change gfo , now it's all good

Cyano is a bacteria cyano solution is medicine i have used it and know if many others who have 1 dose and its gone

+1 on cyano solution. One dose and haven't seen it since. No effects on corals

It's normal. Keep calm, and continue siphoning. It'll go away.

I used Chemi Clean. Worked twice in 2 different tanks. Next day, 30-40% water change. Never came back.
Cyano is a bacteria and doesn't need light to survive. It feed off excess nutrients and phosphates in the water. 3 days without light seems a little scary to me.

Trust me it works just follow instructions and u will be fine your skimmer will go nuts for about a week or so its normal just raise it up about 2 inches in the sump for a day and it goes back to normal

I had the same problem started dosing special blend and it really does work...I like to fight bacteria with bacteria

about 3 weeks only dosing 5 oz a week and blasting alot off the rocks with turkey baster ( spelling sucks)
