Why Vendors do not post prices?

+1. Or make people stop checking there threads because of there prices.
I mean why not have a list numbering the items and prices pertaining to the same. Besides I think it is more complicated to PM everyone who shows any interest.

Its very simple. You like something they want you to visit to sell you another. If they do it over the web you cant window shop

Lol, same here. But if you are buying something of a thread you are still coming over to pick it up.
Can it be that the prices are not the same for everyone?
I'm sure they do it so you can go to their website or store and then when your already there. Your more inclined to buy something.
Also then members can't find out retail prices as easily and purposely price below retail. Prevent the competition a little.

The prices are given over PM anyway, so you are going to have to go an pick it up. Thus, the whole store thing (you are walking out with more then you came to get) still applies.
Just out of curiosity I would love to hear it from a member. Prob wont happen, but you never know.

I was just browsing the vendor threads before I spotted this thread and got annoyed that there isn't any prices. I would be more inclined to visit a vendor if I can gauge what type of prices I'll be paying. I just went by a vendor this past weekend and I wouldn't have if I knew the prices were over the norm. It could have saved me time and gas!

I thought it's the rule when you applied for a vendor account. I guess it's to prevent price matching and competition.
#1 most vendors have stores, the pictures are to show inventory and incite a store visit
#2 taking the pictures is already time consuming, can you imagine editing a description to each

I am sure a lot of vendors would love to post the price if they can. It helps business and you waste more time replying pms anyway.
Like I said, it's MR's rules. It's probably there to prevent hostile pricing among different vendors. IMO, price is information, and hiding it won't help anything. It's kind of anti-competition. Members are going to find out which store has the best price vs quality one way or another.

Respect for other vendors
? No posting competing prices in other vendors forums or threads
? No posting negative comments about any other vendor or the Manhattan Reefs community at large
? You will only make price offers in member posts that are specifically looking for pricing information
You will limit yourself to bumping only 3 posts onto the vendor front page at any given time, as a courtesy to the other vendors
? Items offered for trade must be listed in the vendor forums
