Agree that you don't need a chiller. When I bought my 34 gallon AIO with MH lighting, I assumed I needed a chiller (and bought one). It was sooo loud that my wife told me she wants me to upgrade to LED. I sold the chiller and upgraded to LED.

There was a 2 day between when I sold the chiller and waited for my LEDs to come. I had a fan going and surprise surprise, I didn't need a chiller after all . . . but, I got LEDs because of it! :)

Good luck!

I have a 34 gallon tank aswell and I live on the second floor and it gets hot in my apartment during the summer months...I tried using a fan and the temperature still shot up to 90 degrees and lost everything in my tank.i will never run a reef tank without a chiller BUT that's my opinion.i guess it all depends on the location of the tank in the house or apartment...heat rises

True. If the room your tank is in gets to 80+ degrees, your fan will not act as an air conditioner.

If the room stays below 80 degrees, your fan will pull the cooler air into the tank.

Good luck!

I have a aqua euro 1/13 chiller on my 34 gallon Red Sea and it kicks in when its over 83. Most of the time it's not running and I'm running 2 vega LEDs but in the summer last year it was on almost all day. I also would not run a tank with out a chiller
