I did not wipe the glass vial I wash them with RO water and that's it, But my algae scrubber is not working due to improper light but I am working on light as we speak but I will check next week again and post results.

That test is PPB u now that ? also is Nitrite NOT Nitrate. For Algae scrubber u need 18 hour to run and 3000 k (cheap light bulb) Fl light bulb.

Your Welcome, all u need is 14w Fl (3000 K) run NO more then 18 hours. Cean up every 3 days (if u got brown slime, mean h. nutr.) the every 7 days and leave some seeds (Algae ) on, that plastic net must be very rough.

I'd like to try a simple ats on my new 225 because I won't have a skimmer until Christmas!!

Thanks for the advise vio i am getting good harvesting every two weeks with those bulbs, i live it and right now as of sunday my readings are Phosphates - 0.09 and nitrates 11 and these are from Hanna checkers...

scrubber

mine is pretty simple water runs through the mesh and i have 4 25w warm white bulbs that covers three sheets 12x12 mesh sheets. You have seen the set up i have and i love it. its briining down my phoshates and nitrates i will check again this sunday and see if the numbers are dropping.

your problem may be that you are nitrate limited. cyano thrives in these conditions. one option would be to dose nitrates (calcium, amonium or sodium nitrate)
