How to add a piece of rock

Here is the history:
My brother in law traveled to Colombia last week and since he knows i love my aquarium he brought me a piece of rock he found on the beach. As appreciation to his kindness, and also because i think is nicely shape and looks like some coralline algae is still on it and i can definitely have a spot for it i will really like to use it in my tank
The question: how do i go about it so i can safely introduce it to my tank?? Any and every advice is in advance greatly appreciate.

You could put it in a bucket and cycle for couple of weeks. Probably some dead stuff in there that might jump your phosphates and nitrates a little bit. Me personally would just put in your tank.

I would not just put it in the tank. Make sure you clean that rock real well leaving it in a bucket of rodi and a powerhead and keep changing the water every few days. Only safe way to add a rock that has a bunch of stuff in it that you have no idea about.

How long should i keep it jn a bucket?? Just rodi water?? And should i test for anything while is there?? Thanks

Yes in rodi with a powerhead. It all depends when levels fall. Especially phosphates... I would say a month at max

personally id bleach it, 10 to 1 bleach solution for a day then rinse really well and let soak in ro for a couple days

Should i scrub it in between before starting anything. Either the rodi or the bleach??

I'd scrub it and either soak it in rodi or bleach...I did lots of rocks in a bleach solution.
