24 gallon Aquapod over 5 years old, pretty stable with LPS, 3
cardinals, firefish, bicolor blenny and clown goby with LED lighting. Two days ago it looked like a tank being cycled. Very cloudy and it got worse as the day went on. Temp has been about 82 daytimes for the past few weeks. But the last few days it was down to 80.
Don't see any big change in corals or fish.

I changed about 3 gallons over a short period the next day and the water was still pretty cloudy. Also put in a micron filter pad but that did not seem to help even after 12 hours. I prepared some more water and had to leave.
When I came back 6 hours later the tank was clear.

Any possibility something spawned. I have 6 Astrea snails.
I have them a few years and never saw any spawning. Dozens of small limpets the size of a split pea. I know they are multiplying
but they are so small I can't imagine them spawning enough to cloud the tank. My corals are 8 Acan colonies, a large candycane,
two Trachyphyllia, a large Blastomussa with 12 heads larger than quarters, a Platygora, a 4 inch Lobophyllia, a fox coral and a Cyphastrea.
Most have been in the tank over 2 years and some over 5 years. The Trachyphyllia (4 inches) and fox coral (3 inches) were the only recent additions.

Its possible you had a bacteria bloom. PPL who carbon dose sometimes experience this when they add too much carbon (sugar, vodka, etc). The tank appears cloudy and in a few days it clears you might also notice a white dusting on your rocks. Question is what did you do to "feed" the bacteria? For the most part its not bad as it clears up in a few days but you need to know why.

Two weeks ago I remove all my mangroves from the refugium and in doing so I must have disturbed the sand bed in there. That afternoon my tank became very cloudy and it lasted almost two weeks. I did 2 large water changes, replaced the carbon in the reactor and nothing. All of a sudden the tank was crystal clear. Definitely an bacterial bloom IMO.

I don't know if my issue is related but I came home on Monday from work and my tank was very cloudy. It looked almost the same as when I was setting it up. Today the water is crystal clear.
I did do a 25% water change on Sunday. But I've been doing a 25% water change for the past few months and never saw this before.

No sump, no caulerpa. And it cleared up quickly. I do have more bristle worms than usual. Not sure they spawn. And my snails are around 5 years old and they never did before but could be they finally spawned.
