Trying to decide black or blue for a background.which do you have and explain your reason why

Blue bro. Makes the inside of the tank seem brighter. Had both and the black just seems to darken the tank up.

I want to go blue as it definitely brightens up the tank but the overflow is black.either way I'm going to use vinyl being that the overflow is only on one corner and if I paint it I'm stuck with it only being in one corner of the house
+2 ... Recently switched my 450g DT from black to blue , after realizing the difference blue made over black when I upgraded my grandson's tank from 90g black to 130g blue... Much better color... Lights up the ROOM!

Debated over this myself and finally chose blue for the same reason. Just seem brighter. Check out my posts and you will see a link for my tank video.

My sister in-law works for a company that installs the vinyl lettering on commercial vehicles so it won't cost me anything.I. leaning towards blue,the last 5 tanks I had where black think I need a change

What i did was , the bottom half of the tank black and the top half blue

Blue show off the color better for fish. But Black might bring colors more out in SPS. I have a blue background. My upgrade is going to divid the room so no color background for upgrade.

It would be sick if you could have black blend and gradually turn into blue.

I have both. One black & one blue.... I like the black better even though the blue is brighter. Use paint & primmer in one from Home Depot & use sample size. Apply with a roller & call it a day. Cheap & easy to change if u don't like. Good luck!

Not sure if you read my earlier post...I have a deep blue 60 cube with one corner that has the overflow(gives you the option of putting it in a left or right corner)being that I'm in the process of buying a house soon I want those options of having it in either corner that's why I'm using the vinyl cause it can easily be removed.and the vinyl is free(thanks to my sister inlaw )

Yeah I did read it. Must have missed the part about u not wanting to paint it some how. Lol sorry bout that!
I had blue in my old tank, if you do get blue go pretty dark. Of course now I have a metalic black its from the martha Stewart line lol no joke. I'd have to agree it does make corals pop and besides black always made me look slimmer
