Would you buy this for $300?

After a long break, i'm think about returning to the reefing world. Found this used 57 gallon oceanic illuminata for sale, guy wants $300 for tank, stand, and glass top. Back is painted black, no overflow, and very slight scratch on the front of the glass.

Anyone familiar with this tank, I know oceanic is long gone.

I wouldn't for a reef tank maybe for freshwater. No overflow - no way.

I don't like reef ready, I have life reef overflow box. Non RR is a plus

Plus I don't need a sump, want to keep it simple.

It's a really nice tank. If it'll work for you, it's worth it.

I do believe there are a few 75 rimless including tank, stand, sump, plumbing and top for around $400 for sale in the marketplace.

I'm impressed if what they say is accurate, thats quite an impressive track record..over 25years without a single failure.

Nope, but if it works for you, that's great. I just don't trust them.

That said, $275 isn't bad, but if you're willing to wait, you can probably do better here. Although if you really love the tank, then go for it.

New tank is best deal. And DIY stand. 2x4..why risk a used tank. Who knows how old it is..good luck. all other stuff cab be used but the tank new..i would want Old caulk..
