How important is Potassium for a reef tank, dose anyone doseit on a regular basis???

Never dose, i got both tests, Salifert + Red sea (pain in neck ) i use to monitor when i run Zeovit . If u do every week WC , i don't think u need, must be around 390-400.

Depends on how much coral is in the tank. I dose it every day and potassium iodide too.
It gives u deep blue color but b carefull cause if it goes high its toxic like iodine.

What I meant by how coral in the tank is the consumption of potassium. Do test on a fresh water mix and see what are the levels in the salt. Some salts pottaium is very low

Do not dose potassium until you get a test kit and then call your salt manufacturer and ask them what the potassium concentration at a 1.025 salt level . Then test a fresh batch to see how accurate your kit is

Salifert test is good, Red Sea ( take 20 min.) Like Duke said check before. Good # is 380 to 410.

Not very important or even necessary IMO. I dosed in the past and saw a deeper blue on my SPS.
I didn't use a special reef additive though, I used a supplement meant for human consumption It's raises K just as well but 100x cheaper.
I was dosing about 1ml daily in a 120 gallon reef to maintain 380ppm ish
