I like to visit aqurium stores. I like to take my time and look at the different fish, corals, tanks and their set ups. What I don't understand is why do some stores look filthy. When I walk in an aqurium store, and I see algae on the glass, salt creeps, water stains on the glass, it give me the impression that the livestock is unhealthy. I also don't like when fish that are not compatible with each other, are put in the same 20gal tank. Why would they put two fish that are known to fight, in the same tank? Don't they know that they are going to kill each other and clients are gonna see that? If I have to tell you "hey look your bigger six line wrasse is killing the smaller six line wrasse" you, as a store owner have a problem. I also don't like to see equipment scattered all over the store like a Jenga tower. You want to display your salt and tanks set them neatly. This is just my opinion, and honestly a lot of the stores I visit regularly to shop, are clean and fun to hang out, but it disappoints me when I have to drive and hour to go see a "great" store that in reality was just a mess.

I have to say i like to stop in at fish store when im out just to peek around , very very few stores are completely clean , no dead fish, no 2 foot fish in a 20 gallon tank that cant even turn around , and it just maies me wonder are they careless or just dont like to make money ? People always talk about how amazing absolutly fish is and i do myself , i go to them regularly they have very nice livestock and everything is always immaculate , the price may be higher than most but knowing everything healthy and happy is enough to get me to spend that extra few bucks . My personal opinion is that every store should be immaculate and clean and regularly maintained considering its the business they are in ! Not only is it bad business but i wouldnt be able to look at it i may have a little ocd but my tanks are always spotless i do all my maintenince religiously and if i had a store i would make sure that it would look perfect as well. The funniest is when they have all the for sale tanks which are nasty and then a perfectly immaculate tank witg beautiful livestock but of course thats thier personal tank and not for sale !

I agree. My wife and I like to take road trips to different stores just for the fun of it. You never know what your going to find. There are some places she just doesn't want to go back to.
My pet peeve is not being open your posted hours. We don't even bother going to our closest shop after the third time they weren't there.
