Why is my TDS so high?

So i had a reading of 2 on my rodi. I changed all the filters including the Membrane 100gph and now im getting crazy readings of 9. the bottom 3 are a white cloth filter and 2 carbon. Should i need any other filters to block of the high readings of tds or get a smaller membrane so the water can filter out slower.

Try flushing out 5 gal of ro before putting the new Di resin in. There are preservatives on the membrane

Even before DI 9 ppm is pretty high, I normally get 1 - 2 before DI and 0 ppm after. But it could be because of the preservatives in the new membrane. Let it flush out, put back DI cartridge and change out the resin.

If your running just filter and carbon with membrane. You should be getting anywhere .02 or lower. With DI your reading should be 0. No DI your reading won't be zero. Like Serega stated flush your new filters for awhile. But get DI resin.

yea i ordered the DI resin, i wanted to do a huge water change on my sps tank before Mexico trip but seems like it will have to wait

yea it went down to 4 now. but thats still not the number im looking for.

2-4 without di isn't bad. Do you know the Tds of your tap water?

Something gotta be wrong or just not flushed, I get 0 from a 150GPD membrane before the DI on a 300~ TDS and these aren't as efficient.
