I screwed up my new tank. I took over a 120 gallon, including the sand and water. Then I put like 100+ lbs of live rock from my other tanks and stores and a trade. Everything was fine until I swapped out my sump and added 20 lbs of live sand and another 25 or 30 lbs of live rock. Now my tanks going through a cycle and I'm changing water with my rodi but algae is growing yesterday and today. Should I vacuum it all up and change more water? It's covering the ground and back wall quickly.

I've got a brownish algae on the back wall, red n purple on the sand bed and green on a piece of white rock that was supposedly live
There was just discussion about ways to respond to the red slime or cyano bacteria. With the system recently disturbed and the parameters to your liking, you might take the wait and see approach, maybe vacuum up the offending mats, before resorting to additives. Give the aquarium ecology some time to settle down. With your experience, you should be able to judge in a week or two whether things are improving or going downhill. If algae growth seems at least not to be getting worse, I would take that as a positive sign.

If there is no fish or corals in there I'd let it run its cycle.IF there is corals and fish I'd start doing heavy water changes every other day and test the water

Some algae release spores when disturbed or pulled out.
thats great news.... corals are ok, Fish too,,since they're seperated now I dont have to run the LEDs so bright now just the T5s I hope that also helps.
