Pretty interesting thread. I have bought and sold many things from members here and also CL once or twice. I had a purchased a 220 from a maintenance company in nnj denville area a few summers ago. The tank wasn't predrilled and after making the purchase I decided I would prefer one that was and listed it here and again on CL. I had the tank for a week or so before it sold, the only thing i did with it was clean it and pain the rear glass. Two days after selling it the rear seam of the tank blew out. Now when purchasing the tank I asked if any problems existed or it tank leaked and of course it was good to go.... I filled the tank only enough to clean and didn't let it sit long enough to make sure it was ok.
I made good on the tank purchase with no questions asked of the buyer because i felt it was the right thing to do regardless of asking if the tank was level when filled ECt...
So lesson learned for me and hopefully those that read the thread at the time on here. Some things are perfectly suited to buy used, others not so much or at least without certain precautions being met. Tunicata spoke of a similar scenario a few posts ago and im sure he is a much less trusting buyer as am I. I find that if i have a good experience dealing with people i tend to continue to deal with them when possible and the same goes for vendors. I almost always go to swc/gotham aquatics before going oline because of past dealings with them that were very good.
