3 skimmers to choose

So I am in the process of selling my ATB 840 V2 and am going to need to replace it as my system has grown.

System: 180g display, 75g sump (1/2 full), 40g fuge - will be heavily stocked.

I am currently looking at these 3 skimmers:

1. Aquamaxx ConeS CO3 - $409.99
2. SKIMZ SM 201 Monzter E-Serie $449.99
3. SKIMZ SK 201 Kone E-Serie $419.95

Any recommendations are appreciated!

The DC pumps scare me, I am a set it and forget it type of guy.

its really not hard i have the dc level all the way up and adjusted the gate valve and air silencer little by little

I got the sm253 ,great skimmer ...plug it in a just gate valve ur done

After talking to a few people it looks like I'd be better suited in finding a 10" body skimmer as the ones I posted are pretty much the same size/performance of the ATB 840 I have :/

I have an older model by Aquamax. Which has Sicce pumps. Very quit and very happy with skimmer. Going on two years excellent deal I got from Marinedepot.

The newer Sicce pumps (like the 1000) are very good. Much better than the infamous 2500.

I'm really liking the avast cs3, going to see if there are any others out there, but so far it seems it'd be great

I am actually looking at going with the Avast CS3 Cone Skimmer Kit with 2 x Sicce PSK-1000 in recirculating mode & using my return to feed it.

Question though would my sump & fuge even add a load to the skimmer or is it strictly the fact my display is 180g w/ a heavy bioload?

very simple. just make sure you put it together first without glue and you shouldn't have any problem. they even supply the glue.
