My hope is to find several, or if small enough (astarina), a bunch of stars to keep in my fuge. I've had up to 5 CC stars in my sump, but I just gave my last one to my 2 Harlequins last night. So now I'm looking to replenish. I was doing the rotating cut-off a leg at a time with the group thing, but once I have cut off 2 legs, I just can't bring myself to leave them with 2 legs. So once they are down to 3 legs, if it's feeding time the whole star goes in. My only concern with using local NY star fish is that they are from colder water & would not likely survive in my sump. So I wouldn't be able to care for a group of NY star fish. I would love to get my hands on a bunch of asterina stars. I originally bought the Harlequins to eradicating an infestation in my tank, now I'm hoping to reintroduce them...crazy hobby.

I usually buy 3 choco stars and feed a leg once a week. I keep them in my sump and they usually regenerate their legs in time so I don't need anymore.
