Like all of us I walked by my tank and saw this out of the corner of my eye

The clown is or should saw was smallest in tank and has been in the tank for 3 months or so

Your having bad luck with clowns lately bud, maybe the clown died b4 and the cardinal fed off the remains.

^^^ I had put frozen mysis and pellets in about 30 min before and all the fish were actively eating

Who knows. That cardinal is around 2" maybe touch bigger. It's been aggressive at feeding time since I added a bristle tooth tang few weeks ago
