Need help identifying this protein skimmer!

Picked up this used skimmer and I can't figure it out! I feel like something is missing and I don't know the exact model of it! All I know is that it's made by Reef Octopus! Help please!

I know the pump connects to the lower part but I'm not sure if that hose belongs there or if the pump connects there as well

I would think the pump connects there. I wonder if this is a recirculating skimmer, so you would have a couple of pumps on it or a return line, not sure if Octopus made one though.

The person that sold it to me said it was internal

Not sure, not familiar with RO skimmers. But judging from the 3rd port in your pictures, it looks like to be a inlet port. Their RO Classic internal models lack that 3rd port.

Either way, yours looks like the Classic series.

So that hose has nothing to do with it? Is it internal?

One last question. Is it an external skimmer or internal?

It's external. You need to hook that hose either to a separate pump or manifold from your return pump to get water in it. Then the external pump will circulate the water inside so that other two ports go to the in/out on that pump

You could probably convert it by capping off the 2 extra ports and drop it in a sump with a pump feeding the input, but that's not how this skimmer was designed to operate.

That pump in the pic is submersible. And to feed it a maxijet 1200 or larger

Then you answered you're own question regarding internal/external. Although someone else mentioned it is in fact submersible.
