If you can move it away from the rock so the Estes isn't shadowed take some crazy glue / frag glue and use it as a band aid cover the part of the skeleton were it meets the end of the flesh to try and held receding stop.

Imo those types of corals thrive laying on their side, the ridges are just too sharp to be straight up
