This is a first for me to experience having ich in my system.
Recently, I had setup a new 75G tank, and upgrade rom a 34g. All the water, and sand, plus the live rock came from my 34G. I added new sand, top it off with new water and added more live coralline rock from another system. I waited about a week before I added any live stock. Started with a small yellow tang, tile starfish, and a pearly jawfish from my previous 34G. After a week I added a Citron Goby. A week later I purchase from the LFS a coral beauty, and Kole tang. Everything seem ok and at the moment did not see ich on any of the fish. Afterward i added a mature pair of Onyx Picasso that I had in a nano tank, to shut the nano system down. Then I notice all fish were eating except the coral beauty and he or she was always under the overflow. Then I notice the female Onyx Picasso was acting strange like if she was dying and notice she had ich. Immediately I pulled the pair out and put them both in a 5 gallon with airstone, heater and ich medicine. All fish in my tank had ich. Sadly, all fish die, coral beauty, Kole tang, hippo tang, pearly jawfish, citron goby and my prize onyx picasso pair! The yellow tang appears not to have ich eating like a pig, and very active.

My question is there ich in my tank still? And what should I do at this time to treat my tank before I add any fish?

Also if you run fallow (no fish in the tank) do not do any water changes for 8 weeks. Some people feed the tank with frozen shrimp once a week to keep bacteria going, but if you have enough live rock and life in the tank that is also not necessary.

No fish, no water changes for 8 weeks! After the 8 weeks how much water change. How would I know if safe to add a fish?

That is not a big issue. The main thing is how will you ascertain that for 8 weeks your fish in QT did not have ich?

How big is your DT? How much LR do you have? what kind of filtration? There are many factors that will govern when to add fish back to DT.

IMO, you should look into the different foods that they have for ich while your fish are in quarantine. I think most of it is simply soaked in garlic, but def do something because last thing you wanna do is irritate the fish when you return them back to the tank and have that show up again.

you are wasting your time all you need to do is get strong fish feed them well so that they stay strong and they will do great also tangs are very susceptible to getting ick in the beginning if you feed them food supplemented with garlic juice and selcon you will make their immune systems that much stronger and they will be able to fend off ick i have a chocolate tang that got ick all over him three times and every time it lasted a little bit less he has been ick free for the last 2 years dont forget that you stressed every thing when you switched tanks

yes you should research the ich life cycle, and then make your own decision if its worth it.
if you want to rid your tank of it, you will have to leave it fishless as mentioned. to keep it that way you have to QT every thing live you put in your DT. even your frags.
personally i think its too much work and extra equipment. try and keep your fish healthy works for some. good luck

Like edd says research the ich.... Quarantine the yellow tang. And treat him for ich if he was in there he got it. QT any new fish you put in your display. You can treat with chemicals or low salinity to rid of ich. Most important thing is be patient in this hobby. Research....
