Hi all! We are thrilled to host MACNA 2017 in New Orleans! My name is Greg and I am one of the directors of Bayou Reefkeeping. I founded the club in March of 2011 along with a few others and we have been full steam ahead ever since to bring MACNA to New Orleans. We host an annual show called Fragniappe and we have enjoyed it a great deal the past three years. Next year it will be the fourth annual Fragniappe in March and MACNA at the end of August!

Would like to know when the MACNA coming to New York. New York has been growing in recent years in the hobby. The Reef A Palooza has join New Jersey the last two years with great success. Let's make it happen put New York on the Map or on the East.

You need a club to take it on and it's a lot of work and time to do it, just ask NJRC, so this is something that most likely isn't going to happen.

In addition to Marrone's point which is very true, A real, actually in NYC MACNA is not going to happen unless someone who owns a hotel very close to a suitable convention center is willing to discount room rates well below $200 per/night. Basically it is never going to happen.

But we digress, next year's show in New Orleans is shaping up to be fantastic! As someone who has attended 17 MACNAS in a row, I'm particularly amped for this one!!!

Well maybe NJ can since they were there 2010 in AC.I heard this year was awful. The hotel they had tons of trouble. People complaining rooms were dirty had blood on sheets. It's wasn't good....at least the rooms.

You might be surprised. Room rates for the hotel we secured are about $300 to $350 per night for the time frame we are doing MACNA in New Orleans. We negotiated down to $149 per night. Power in numbers....

Overall the San Diego group did a great job with what they have available there to host such a convention. We all had a great time and slept well enough.

I can't wait for people to see the Hilton Riverside and Morial Convention Center in New Orleans next year though!
